Best Tarpon Reef Snorkeling

On the southshore of Cayman Brac, the snorkelling in Sea Feather Bay is well known for its dense marine life off a spur and groove reef formation. There are several types of coral including elkhorn coral, pillar coral, brain coral, star coral and fire coral along with many types of sponges. During Sea Feather Bay snorkeling, you may encounter parrotfish, blue tangs, squirrelfish, rockfish, wrasses, grouper, yellowtail, sergeant majors and turtles. The water depth is typically about 20-50 feet deep.

To reach the snorkeling on Cayman Brac Island by air, you will fly into the Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) on Grand Cayman Island. Then, transfer to the inter-island airline, Cayman Airways, to head to Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac Island. When departing the Cayman Islands, there is a departure tax of $37.50USD. This tax may be included in the airline ticket, but you will want to verify in advance. There is plentiful marine life with over 500 fish species including sergeant majors, parrotfish, barracuda, horse-eye jacks, moray eels, stingrays, turtles and occasional reef sharks.
