2 Background Information The World Wildlife Fund is a program that fights to secure a future for animals on this planet. Throughout there work they have helped to bring extinct animals back to healthy populations. One of their main goals is to keep the animals habitats and landscapes thriving. According to the WWF they “ envision, create, test and deliver solutions for a crowded planet.”

3 What is the focal point in this image?

4 The focal point in the image is the little girl in the tiger costume. Your eye is immediately drawn to her because she is in the center of the image and is larger than the other objects. Your eye is also drawn to the barrel of the gun to show that the “tiger” is about to be shot.

5 How does the contrast in colors show emphasis?

6 The cool earth tones such as the browns and blues contrast the orange tiger. This places emphasis on the tiger to make it stand out. The choice of colors also gives you the feeling that you are in nature because of the realistic colors.

7 What does the artist exclude from this visual?

8 The author excludes the type of gun to be more general so it includes a wider variety of people. When including a general gun the advertisement is an announcement to all hunters. The author also excludes the gender of the shooter because in today's society many females have began to hunt so the announcement is for both men and women.

9 How does excluding the girls face change the meaning of the image?

10 When not including the costume and little girl the advertisement looks as if it is promoting hunting and the killing of animals. It makes you feel as if you are there and you should be hunting and killing the animal because the look in the tigers eye looks vicious.

12 The ethical appeal in the image is the panda with WWF below it because it shows credibility for the World Wildlife Fund. This is credible because the organization has created many ads to prevent the killing of animals and they promote the safety and security of animals.

14 The emotional appeal in this image is sympathetic because the little girl looks innocent and you become concerned for her safety and it makes you realize that even though you are killing an animal you are also killing the tigers daughter or son.

16 The logical appeal in this photo is that you do not want to shoot a cute little innocent girl. It is not logic that a child would be dressed up in a costume in the woods but it helps get the authors purpose across.
